This Flight Centre Canada marketing campaign focussed on inspiring Canadians to make travel plans for the next year. I started with the initial campaign creative image & headline using this to create elements for print, web and videos. This involved sourcing compelling images for key destinations and linking in the passport subheading with stamps icons. These were then adapted for use across social media channels, in email marketing, press ads, and in store panels and on TV screens.
The aim of this project was to promote the Sky Sports Pub Challenge App to venues and potential users. This was achieved through the creation of a variety of digital and print campaign materials working from sketches and rough drafts. I adapted the initial design concepts to a variety of formats for print and online, working closely with the Art Directors, Copywriters and the Artwork team and SapientNitro in London.
Flight Centre Canada launched a range of travel products: Escapes, Getaways, EuroBreaks and Journeys. This project aim was to personalised travel documentation for each of them as a value add for customers.
I designed travel documents for each of the ranges with imagery to cover a range of destinations and vacations types. The next step was to devise a solution to merge the customer travel information and enable easy personalisation. In addition I created custom document envelopes to hold the travel documents and travel agent details.
I volunteered for Bali Animal Welfare Association as their Product designer. This role involved creating items for the retail store in Ubud to help raise both funds and awareness. Here are a couple of examples of my projects:
Design and production of 2011 Calendar featuring photographs of animals rescued by BAWA, including sourcing and taking photographs. Each month features a short story about a rescued animal, helping to raise awareness about BAWA’s many programs and success stories.
A BAWA version of the classic Bintang beer singlet. A particularly appropriate design as the majority of BAWA shop customers are tourists. This involved the design, reaching out to Bintang for permission, and of course working with local printers and suppliers.
The students at Green School wanted to help the Bali Animal Welfare Association care for animals. They were unable to interacting directly with the animals at BAWA’s clinic due to the Rabies outbreak and other safety considerations. The solution I devised was to provide a way for them to help BAWA through fundraising and show them how they can make a difference in their local community. I worked closely with the students and their teacher to create a program where the kids could create items to sell.
I successfully applied for a fundraising grant to purchase a badge making machine. The children drew pictures of animals that I enhanced and resized. The kids loved making the badges, key rings and bottle openers. Their joy at seeing their visions coming to life was a pleasure to behold. They were extremely proud of the money they raised selling everything they made. The drawings were also used (with permission) for various other BAWA products such as greeting cards and postcards.
My role in this project was to transform the static Flight Centre Black Friday campaign creative into video format and animated GIFs for the online and digital marketing channels.
I recreated the neon-look from the initial concept in After Effects and brought it to life as a video. The resulting content was used for outdoor billboards in Toronto, elevator and commuter transit advertising screens across Canada, social media channels and the retail store screens. I also created GIF animation versions to bring movement to the usually static email marketing campaigns.
In my role with Flight Centre Canada I managed the creative side of the email marketing program. During this time I initiated the use of animated gifs where appropriate to bring motion into online marketing materials. This involved the creation of animated versions of a variety of campaign and sale materials and the integration of these into the email marketing program and social media campaigns.
Design of a high profile display at Sydney airport to promote the new Tennessee Honey flavour of Jack Daniel’s to travellers passing through Sydney airport. This included 3D wall graphics, branded barrels and hives, and a large scale floor decal. All designed in compliance with Jack Daniel’s corporate branding guidelines.
A Flight Centre marketing campaign with multiple partners promoting & inspiring travel deals to Asia. The concept for this project was an Instagram themed campaign, especially in regards to the choice of imagery. I created the initial design and sourced appropriate images. I then adapted this across print and digital channels including; press advertisements, email marketing, social media posts, retail store POS signs, and in store videos.
A range of direct mail campaigns targeted to different customer groups. These pieces promoted Sky’s unique offerings and extra features as well as offering financial incentives. Created while working closely with the Art Directors, Copywriters and the Artwork team and SapientNitro in London.
Sawa World is an award winning NGO that is globally recognized for its unique approach in aiming to self-empower 1.2 billion people out of extreme poverty by using locally-created solutions. Sawa World believes that poverty is best solved by the people themselves and with their own ideas - Solutions from Within.
I worked with Sawa World in a voluntary capacity helping with their many design needs. This included creating materials for their annual event in Uganda: Sawa World Day. This event is targeted at Uganda’s vulnerable youth and provides them with hands-on-experience to gain employable skills and instantly improve their livelihoods during a daylong outdoor exhibition packaged with entertainment and workshops. I created all the event materials including: online and print advertisements, posters, banners, backdrops, signage, name tags, t-shirts, and an activity passport for the attendees.
This project was to incentivise DVD purchases by the creation of limited edition collectors items. I designed a 16 page collector’s booklet & character cards for the DVD release of Public Enemies in Australia following the look of the DVD packaging and retail posters.
Marketing campaign promoting offers existing Sky Broadband customers, with the aim of ensuring customer satisfaction & retention. This involved the production of digital and print marketing materials in conjunction with creative directors and artwork team, developing the creative teams initial concept and ensuring consistent branding.
Flight Centre Canada wanted to highlight their airfare expertise in their retail stores. For this purpose I worked on a range of informative flyers and posters highlighting air travel information travellers may not understand, including creating vector diagrams of the various types of airplanes.
This project’s aim was to raise awareness about Bali Animal Welfare Association’s free animal adoptions and find homes for rescued animals. I created a variety of posters in Indonesian and English, featuring photographs of animals from BAWA’s clinic.
This was an opportunity to mix my professional life with my personal. I’ve been training Capoeira almost as long as I’ve been a designer. I created promotional materials for the annual Batizado (grading) events and designs for the shirts all participants wear.
This project started with the redesign of the Fast Track Wealth Community 52 page magazine, updating the format to a more clean and modern layout. I continued to design each monthly issue then transformed the publication into online format to allow easier distribution and reduce the environmental impact. The updated look was carried through to the wordpress hosted version while taking advantage of the opportunity to include multimedia content.
A valentines day themed sale campaign promoting Flight Centre gift cards as the perfect gift. This campaign united the ideas of love & travel, aiming to inspire potential customers. A series of love related reasons to travel linked with destination ideas in various formats including video and email.
